Superjet 100 engine is now certified by EASA

The SaM 146 jet engine designed by French firm Safran to power the Sukhoi Superjet 100 has been certified by EASA.

The regional jet engine is jointly produced in France and Russia. Certification by the Russian authorities is expected within the next few weeks.

The Powerjet joint venture between Snecma (part of the Safran group) and NPO Saturn completed 7,100 hours of tests including 3,500 hours in flight.
