Etihad renews SkyConnect contract with Lufthansa Systems
Etihad Airways confirmed today that it has renewed its contract with Lufthansa Systems, to handle the airline's worldwide exchange of data with its SkyConnect network management system. SkyConnect has been used by the airline since 2007.
The SkyConnect network links approximately 60 international Etihad sites, facilitating the seamless exchange of large volumes of data in daily airline operations. SkyConnect meets the most stringent requirements in terms of global reach and permanent network availability.
Instead of operating a dedicated and expensive network of its own, Lufthansa Systems combines sub-networks of various regions and local providers based on each customers' requirements, offering them, it says, a high degree of flexibility and value for money.
