This includes the recently-launched WorldView-2 satellite and more than 815 million square kilometers of high-resolution imagery.

The company is now a member of the WorldView Global Alliance, along with DigitalGlobe and European Space Imaging.

Mohammed El-Kadi, managing director of SIME said: “Through this Alliance, we will once again be the first in our markets, offering commercial eight-band multispectral products from WorldView-2.

“We expect to begin priority tasking of DigitalGlobe’s WorldView satellites in Europe in the first quarter of 2010, through European Space Imaging (EUSI) WorldView's ground station in Munich.

“Later this year, we expect to expand our capabilities to offer priority tasking of the WorldView satellites in the Middle East.”
