Russian-owned British Gulf’s general manger Ruslan Afaunov, was quoted in the Gulf News saying: “We just have to continue operating. [But] we have to follow the ban.”

British Gulf’s fleet is made up of six of the Soviet-era four engine turboprop An-12s with operations at Sharjah and Dubai airports. Earlier in January a British Gulf An-12 skidded off the runway at Sharjah International Airport suffering unspecified damaged in the incident.
