Royal Air Maroc to reduce fuel consumption and costs with IOCC from Lufthansa Systems

Lido/Flight covers all aspects of flight planning and the associated follow-up processes and calculates the best route available between two airports.
Royal Air Maroc has been using the IOCC components NetLine/Sched for schedule management and NetLine/Ops for operations control for several years. The IOCC Platform is the first integrated IT solution able to control and monitor all aspects of airline operations which are closely interlinked in practice, including schedule
management, operations control, crew management, flight planning and weight & balance. With the IOCC Platform airlines can optimize their flight operations and generate significant cost savings.
Royal Air Maroc also uses SkyConnect for secure and reliable networking between their headquarters. The airline has been relying on Lufthansa Systems' IT solutions since 1999.
"We need powerful and sophisticated IT solutions to optimize the efficiency of our flight operations and reduce costs in our global network spanning Africa, the Middle East, Europe and North America", said Mrs Habiba Laklalech, Deputy Director General Support at Royal Air Maroc. "Lufthansa Systems impressed us in previous
projects with its in-depth airline expertise and modern technologies. This is why we have opted for Lido/Flight for optimizing our dispatch processes."
Lido/Flight provides dispatchers with various optimization options regarding flight time, fuel consumption or costs of each flight. With a market share of 40% in the Middle East and North Africa, it is one of the leading flight planning solutions in the industry.
The system enables airlines to cut fuel costs by up to five percent. The IT solution draws on its own aeronautical database to calculate the optimum route, taking all relevant information into account including weather data and current aeronautical restrictions.
"Our comprehensive portfolio covers all airline business processes. Customers using our IOCC Platform can optimize their processes and thus increase productivity. We are proud that Royal Air Maroc has decided to further expand its trust-based cooperation with us to take advantage of our expertise in flight planning as well," said Marco Cesa, Senior Vice President Sales EMEA at Lufthansa Systems.
