Turkish Aerospace: AI Important for Future Platforms

Fixed-wing and rotary wing autonomous control, AI based friendlies and adversaries in simulation and training, decision support systems, image/video processing and natural language processing controls are among the developing capabilities of Turkish Aerospace.
"Artificial intelligence is crucial for future and current platforms, in all areas from design to manufacturing, test to maintenance and especially in operation on platforms themselves as it increases the capabilities and reduces the workloads of pilots and operators, even allows autonomous operation," the official said.
Turkish Aerospace has formed a central, dedicated AI research unit which is already building such systems in all these areas. The company is ready to launch a new composite production centre equipped with new technologies such autonomous production, augmented reality implantation, intelligent lighting systems and intelligent painting tanks.
Turkish Aerospace also implements AI and augmented reality (AR) applications to platforms for the better projection during production. Toward this end, Turkish Aerospace has developed an indigenous engineering simulator for HÜRJET Jet Training and Light Attack Aircraft, and named HURJET 270 for engineering justification activities.
"One of our biggest projects--the Turkish Fighter will also be included many AI software during engineering as well as production stages," the company official informed.
"We also have IMODE, an in-house visual tool for graphical and logical models generation which allows rapid pilot vehicle interface deployment that incorporates AI.”
