New interior is all set in stone

The company has just delivered a Global 5000 business jet with a stone floor, recently completed at its independently owned completion and modification centre.
The new aircraft was flown from the Bombardier Global Completion Center in Montreal to Flying Colours for the modification and then to the customer in Asia.
The List Components & Furniture GmbH manufactured stone floor was installed in the gantry/galley area, forward lavatory, and aft lavatory area of jet. This new and cutting edge process sees the granite get cut into 2.5mm slices and attached to a lightweight backplate, which gives it high elasticity without losing the necessary floor-loading requirements. The floor is custom engineered to fit a specific area and sealed to prevent liquids from penetrating the stone.
The installation was carried out at Flying Colours Peterborough, Ontario facility. Flying Colours has seen an escalation in the demand for its refurbishment services among Global Express owners and sees this market as having major growth potential.
