The second 88-seat, all-economy Embraer E175 has arrived in Bengaluru, Karnataka, following delivery of the first aircraft in April 2025. Two more E175s will be delivered to Star Air over the coming months completing a lease agreement entered into between the parties earlier this year.
Azorra has also successfully novated four Embraer E175s on lease to Star Air from Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), following the acquisition of 49 Embraer E-Jets from DAE in May 2025.
These deliveries support Star Air’s expansion to larger jets, enabling the carrier to scale operations and broaden its footprint across India.
John Evans, CEO and Founder of Azorra, said: “Earlier this year, we were pleased to welcome Star Air as a new Azorra airline partner, with the delivery and lease of our first Embraer E175 commencing in April 2025. Now, we are delighted to announce a significant expansion of this relationship with our delivery of a second Azorra E175 and recent acquisition of four additional E175s on lease to Star Air from DAE as part of our previously announced portfolio acquisition.
“These deliveries mark our first transactions in India, one of the world's most rapidly evolving aviation markets, demonstrating our belief in Star Air and the Indian aviation market. This is also another important and exciting step for Azorra as we strengthen our position across Asia-Pacific.”
Simran Singh Tiwana, CEO of Star Air, added: "Welcoming two additional Embraer E175s aligns perfectly with our strategy of connecting tier-two and tier-three cities in India. As we enter our next phase of growth, these first two aircraft out of lease agreements for four additional E175s, will allow us to scale operations and increase network connectivity, while enhancing passenger comfort and optimising cost-efficiency. We are delighted to begin our partnership with Azorra and look forward to building on this relationship in the years to come.”
