TATV Spotlight: Highlighting the AMAC success story

AMAC Aerospace has built an enviable reputation for VIP and VVIP completions and MRO, serving both the corporate and commercial aircraft markets.

Through the pandemic, AMAC has bucked the trend across the entire aviation industry and grown in capacity and capability; its fifth hangar, opened last spring at Basel, has been busy from the start.

In this TATV Spotlight programme, MRO editor Chuck Grieve talks to Bernd Schramm, group chief operating officer, and Mauro Grossi, group chief financial officer, of AMAC Aerospace about the secrets of its success.

They credit the strong client relationships built up over many years, together with consistently delivering on time and on budget, for placing AMAC at the forefront of its sector.

Responding quickly to the MRO needs of its clients, AMAC has added approvals for types such as the Boeing 787, Airbus A350 and Bombardier Global 7000, and continues to “follow the market” in its planning.

As demand grows for VIP completions of larger and newer airframes, AMAC is confident its world-leading experience with the original ‘Big Bird’ – the Boeing 747-8 – will stand it in good stead. “Somehow we have found the right recipe to work these aircraft,” says Bernd Schramm.
