TATV Newsround: Privatisation of Air India

The programme leads this week with the news on Air India finally being privatised and returning to the hands of the Tata group in a move that appears popular with the people and competitors.

This will inevitably lead to a restructuring of the Tata aviation interests but could again see the country enjoying the revival of a great airline brand. Jay Menon reports from New Delhi.

Another revival story comes from Africa, as Uganda Airways makes its first flight out of Africa for more than 20 years with its maiden journey to Dubai. We were there to talk to CEO Jenifer Bamuturaki about the airline’s plans.

This week has seen the world’s biggest business aviation event, NBAA in Las Vegas, Jill Stockbridge picks the highlight of the new launches at the show, while Alan Peaford reports on the unveiling of not one, but two, new Gulfstream jets.

Chuck Grieve is in Morocco finding out about how one business there has found a new way to do things in the leasing world thanks to the pandemic and in South Africa, the continent’s agriculture came into focus with the Air Tractor coming into its own to help efficiency in the fields.

This, plus all the news from the Middle East, Africa and South Asia region’s aerospace and defence industry.
