Fraudulent recruitment practices alert from Etihad Airways

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has issued a warning on its website about fraudulent recruitment practices.

The carrier said: “It has come to Etihad Airways’ attention that a number of people claim to be acting on its behalf in recruiting or facilitating recruitment of employees. Please note that we do not authorise any third-party recruiter to select people on our behalf. All Etihad employees are recruited via Etihad’s HR Department only.”

It seems that people, purporting to be from an authorised recruitment agency, are charging fees to potential recruits.

The company emphasised: “Etihad Airways never charges job applicants any kind of fee at any stage of the recruitment process. So please be sure that you follow the proper placement channel while applying for a career with the world’s leading airline employer.

“Etihad Airways disclaims any liability arising from any claim, damage, or loss suffered by you in connection with or as a result of your contact or correspondence with any placement agency purporting to be an authorised recruitment agency, or any action you take in reliance on any statement, representation or undertaking given to you by any such placement agency.”
