Royal Jordanian chairman of the board of directors, Said Darwazah  said: “Royal Jordanian witnessed many developments and great achievements over the past few decades, modernising its fleet of aircrafts, which now amounts to 25. Moreover, the airline’s membership in the oneworld Alliance has added great value to its passengers, who can now fly to over 1,000 airports in more than 170 countries,”

Darwazah said the airline’s appreciation for the continued support from the Jordanian government and its keenness to see the company keep carrying out its duties as the national carrier, contributing to Jordan’s economy and supporting the tourism sector.

He said: “Serving our country, especially during these difficult times, is tightly woven into Royal Jordanian’s moral fabric, as displayed by the role it played in the repatriation of thousands of stranded citizens while maintaining the highest health and safety standards, in addition to shipping hundreds of tons of medical supplies to the Kingdom.”

Darwazah added how the aviation sector was among those most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, with the financial repercussions of air travel restrictions expected to last a few years.

“Despite the challenges still facing Royal Jordanian and the global air transport industry, the company promises to stay on course with its vision set on being the airline of choice connecting Jordan and the Levant with the rest of the world,” he said.
