Kenya Airways wins prestigious African Airlines Association Airline of the Year Award

Kenya Airways has received the prestigious African Airlines Association (AFRAA) Airline of the Year Award for Best Improved in Intra-Africa Connectivity.

According to AFRAA, the award recognized Kenya Airways for its remarkable contribution to intra-Africa connectivity through opening up the highest number of intra African routes within AFRAA membership in 2018.

Since the beginning of 2018, KQ has opened four routes in Africa including Mauritius, Mogadishu and Malindi and increased frequencies and capacity to destinations such as Cape Town, Seychelles, Zanzibar, Kigali, Bujumbura Mauritius, Livingstone, Victoria falls and Kilimanjaro

“Kenya Airways continues to offer the best connectivity in Africa with 44 destinations in the continent while providing the continent with unmatched connectivity to the rest of the world through our 55 destinations worldwide,” said KQ CEO Sebastian Mikosz.

He also noted that improved connectivity within the continent leads to increased economic and social development, promoting trade, tourism, and exchange of cultural and social ideas. Kenya Airways is one of the leading airlines in driving growth of aviation in the continent in line with its mission of contributing to the sustainable development of Africa.
