The Moroccan Airports Authority (ONDA) has outlined the measures it has adopted to offer a “healthy and comfortable travel experience” in compliance with directives from the Ministry of Health. The measures include installing markers on the floor of terminal buildings to encourage social distancing, recommending travellers keep 1.5 metres from others. In addition, partitions and Plexiglass have been installed at customer-facing points in the airports, such as check-in counters and border posts.
The wearing of a face mask has been made mandatory in all areas of the airports, and hand sanitising stations are now available throughout terminal buildings.
Both national carrier Royal Air Maroc and low-cost carrier Air Arabia Maroc have yet to announce a resumption of services and continue to suspend international and domestic flight operations.
While international flights remain suspended, the government has called for
temperature screening to be introduced for all arriving passengers. Thermal cameras, are being installed at various points in the airport for monitoring travellers.
Special procedures have been devised for passengers suspected of having the virus, including health isolation points.
