Airports Company South Africa wins at Integrated Reporting Awards ceremony

Airports Company South Africa has received the ‘State-owned Company’ award at the recently held Integrated Reporting Awards ceremony in Monte Casino.

The awards were presented and hosted by Chartered Secretaries Southern Africa and the JSE Limited in November.

“This award demonstrates how our strategy and sustainability framework have helped us fulfil our mandate and ensure that our decisions and actions support our journey towards 2025,” said Airports Company South Africa, Group executive: corporate Affairs, Refentse Shinners.

The awards measure the full Integrated Report and judging is based on strict criteria that are set according to latest global and local best practise standards.

The Chartered Secretaries Southern Africa is the formal professional institute for enabling corporate governance and company secretaries, as well as the expert commentator and thought leader in Southern Africa on governance.

The winning reports were well presented with a good mixture of commentary and graphics. The cross referencing and linkage to different elements of the reports created connectivity.

The category for SOEs focused on reporting on benchmarking of stakeholder engagement activities, which is innovative and informative, as well as capital trade off section that gives readers a good understanding of challenges faced by the organisation.

“It is through the efforts of our people and stakeholder partnerships that we can achieve the vision of being a world-leading airport business,” added Shinners.
