The only working intelligent technology of its kind, ViatorComfort measures and maps pressure points on airline seat cushions.
Andrew Barnett, joint managing director, said: “ViatorComfort will allow seating companies and airlines to deliver even greater comfort, especially on long-haul flights.
“ViatorComfort can provide key data which our AI learning platform can interpret, delivering visual pressure mapping for seat design based upon live passenger use.
“It also means that they can track seats and cushions for wear and tear, and ensure they can be replaced or repaired either individually or in batches to maximise efficiency for carriers and comfort for passengers.
“The system, which is the only working technology of its kind, also logs data for analysis to allow manufacturers and carriers to improve their airline interiors and ergonomic designs.
ViatorComfort can also send data about seat use direct to a flight attendant’s tablet or onboard computer system to monitor individual seats in real time. Alerts can also be sent when cushions are wearing out or reach set levels.
It can be integrated into FliteTrak’s suite of Viator aviation products, ViatorAero and SpriteAero, which monitor movement, temperature, air quality, passenger movement, mobile phone activation and seat belt closure.
Systems can be incorporated into newbuild seats or retrofitted into existing cushions.
