MRO Middle East 2021 - show wrap

The MRO Middle East show ended in Dubai this afternoon among plaudits from visitors and exhibitors expressing positive sentiment as the aviation industry continues to recover and plan for growth.

The in-person event held at the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC), and welcoming industry leaders, buyers and specialists from across the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) industry may have had fewer exhibitors than previous years but as GCC editor Jill Stockbridge reports in this SHOW BUSINESS TV wrap programme, there were plenty of visitors.

Boeing may not have been there in person, but the company demonstrated its commitment to the region with an announcement of a renewed tailored parts package agreement with Turkish Technic, extending thecurrent contract by three years. This enables Turkish Technic to reinforce its efficiency, reliability and access to a global network of parts and component services.

Jordan’s Joramco and VD Gulf from Sharjah, embodied one of the major themes of the show – cooperation and collaboration – by signing a framework agreement to expand their existing capabilities and capacity and optimize their synergies for a one-stop-shop upscaled customer experience.

Damon Seksaoui, general manager at Liebherr Middle East added: “There has been an outstanding attendance at this year’s MRO Middle East and it is great to see so many customers and businesses here, some of whom have travelled all the way from the U.S. We hope this is the start of many events of this type for the industry as we return to normality. Dubai has provided an excellent infrastructure for testing, clear travel rules and procedures and the UAE government deserves to be praised for enabling business and safe travel.”

Organisers Aviation Week Network and Dubai’s Tarsus confirmed that next year the event will return as the co-located Aircraft Interiors Middle East and MRO Middle East. It will take place on 22-23 February 2022.
