Embraer Commercial Aircraft president and chief executive, Arjan Meijer, talks to Mark Pilling about the Brazilian manufacturer's growing role in Africa's region air transport networks.

Bringing the latest model from the OEM to Kigali, Rwanda, on the occasion of the Aviation Africa Summit and Exhibition,  Embraer was able to show the aircraft's capability in a two-class configuration to VIP visitors from across the continent.

"Demand for lower trip cost and competitive seat cost is increasing" Meijer says. Africa is the perfect region for the E-jets as it seeks to improve connectivity between nations according to Meijer as he outlines how the cost and performance benefits are seeing the manufacturer increase its presence in the region.
