Duties / Responsibilities

Responsible for all Base Maintenance services performed on the Qatar Airways fleet of aircraft. Overall responsibility for the entrepreneurial management of the Base Maintenance department. Ensuring that all necessary maintenance, including defect rectification, is performed in accordance with the standards specified in the CAME, MOE, TPM and in compliance with QCAR-145 requirements. Responsible for any corrective action resulting from quality monitoring audits within area of responsibility. Playing a key part in the transition from the current base Maintenance Facility to the new Doha International Airport facility and actively contributing expertise to ensure Qatar Airways achieves a state of the art facility.

Qualifications

Engineering degree essential (MBA is desirable). Licensed aircraft engineer is a must. Familiar with EASA.

               

Experience

Minimum of 15 years in the aviation industry of which at least 6 years was in a Management grade position and 3 years in a Senior management role. Extensive proven track record in the Base Maintenance environment

               

Skills / Expertise

Management training.

Organization policies, products and processes relative to the area of employment.

Trade related reinforcement training.

Proven ability to perform under pressure be agile and flexible to meet the demands of a dynamic, growing business.

Detailed knowledge of Base Maintenance processes.

Ability to effectively communicate & manage individual department sections.

Effectively guide a large department and ensure continuous development.

Ability to effectively manage the financial aspects of the department.

Sound knowledge of productivity management & air legislation.
