FSEMC kicks off in Egypt

Eng. Gamal, Egyptair's director said: “This is the first time to have the FSEMC in the region, which reflects the growing confidence of the simulator community in the role played by Egypt Air in our region and the future direction of air training in the Middle East.”
Attendees from all over the world have arrived to discuss topics such as qualifying new simulators, the impact of new regulations on flight training and new avionics. Safety is the key theme. In his welcoming remarks to attendees, Mike Jackson FSEMC’s chairman pointed to the value of training by recounting the story of US Airways flight 1549, which ditched in the Hudson River with no casualties.
He said: “The A320 experienced a dual engine failure after a multiple bird strike at 3,200 feet while climbing out of LaGuardia airport. The crew was forced to declare an emergency and ended up ditching in the Hudson River in New York. When you stop and think about an incident like this, it has to make you proud to be part of our industry. The training that the crew of that aircraft received allowed them to perform in a professional and safe manner that resulted in the remarkable outcome of what could have been a deadly crash.”
FSEMC is the largest worldwide event in the simulator industry calendar, where OEMs, users, parts vendors, and civil aviation authorities congregate to pick up the latest industry trends.
