RwandAir starts non-stop flights to Mombasa

RwandAir is to start flying nonstop services from Dubai to Mombasa.

In addition to its daily flights to Kigali, three weekly flights are now offered between the coastal cities of Mombasa and Dubai. 

Chief executive officer, John Mirenge said: ”We have a very strong customer base in both Dubai and Mombasa, who have expressed their desire for a seamless nonstop service. We’re happy to now offer such product”.   

Flights from Dubai operate Monday, Friday and Saturday. Using new Boeing 737-800NG aircraft, the first on the African continent with the Boeing Sky Interior Concept and a flight time between Dubai and Mombasa of 5 ½ hours. 

RwandAir is expanding heavily. The airline recently added two brand new regional jets to its fleet. “The year 2012 has been very successful for us, we’ve seen strong growth in revenue and passengers numbers”, said RwandAir commercial director, Bert van der Stege. “Beyond pure point-to-point traffic and our hub development in Kigali, we’re also looking at 5th freedom opportunities, such as traffic between other countries than our home base”.
