The agreement allows Qatar Airways’ passengers to connect seamlessly via the Tanzanian capital Dar es Salaam to and from a wide range of East African cities, such as Moroni – the capital city of Comoros – Zanzibar, Mombasa, Arusha, Kigoma, Shinyanga, Musoma and Tabora.

With this new agreement, customers are able to purchase a single itinerary combining flights on both carriers’ global networks, affording them the ease of one-stop ticketing and baggage check-in.

Qatar Airways, recently named Airline of the Year 2011 in the annual Skytrax passenger survey, operates double daily scheduled flights to Dar es Salaam from its Doha hub.

The Precision Air partnership helps extend Qatar Airways’ reach even further across East Africa, where the airline already operates twice daily scheduled services to the Kenyan capital Nairobi and is set to launch daily flights to the Ugandan city of Entebbe from today.

The agreement provides passengers with seamless travel options to popular holiday destinations such as the Comoros Islands in the Indian Ocean, renowned for its picture-postcard beaches and beautiful landscapes, as well as the exotic island of Zanzibar (above).

Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said the partnership broadened the airline’s reach to diverse markets, providing passengers with easy, seamless access: “Through Precision Air, we are able to open up an exciting array of destinations in East Africa and very much look forward to having passengers experience our service, particularly as they may have previously used alternative gateways to get to their final destination.”

The Doha – Dar es Salaam route is served with an Airbus A320 aircraft featuring up to 12 seats in Business Class and up to 132 seats in Economy.

So far this year, Qatar Airways has added 13 destinations to its international map – Bucharest, Budapest, Brussels, Stuttgart, Aleppo, Shiraz, Venice, Montreal, Medina, Kolkata, Sofia,  Oslo and Benghazi and is gearing up for more route expansion with a further two destinations –Entebbe and the central Chinese city of Chongqing – being inducted into the network this month.
