Royal Jordanian’s Vice Chairman/CEO Samer Majali has been awarded the Distinguished Aviation Alumni Award 2022.

The award was presented by Professor Dame Helen Atkinson, Pro-Vice Chancellor, School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing at Cranfield University, UK.

The Distinguished Aviation Alumni Award is one of Cranfield University’s highest honours. It recognises the individuals who have achieved significant success within the aviation industry, while upholding the highest standards in industry practice.

The award was given to Majali in acknowledgment of his sustained professional achievement at the highest levels; he is regarded as a role model for leadership, having international visibility, influence, and wide experience working across different countries. Majali has also shown a significant impact on the air transport industry, beyond his own role and organization wherever he worked, being highly regarded as one of the Middle East’s most powerful and influential airline CEOs. His illustrious career has seen him take top executive positions.

Majali graduated from Cranfield University in 1983 with an MSc degree in Air Transport Management.

“I am both humbled and honoured to receive the aviation alumni award for 2022. It is special, as it is a recognition from a globally recognized institution of learning and innovation, and the one which I have had the privilege of being associated with for many years,” Majali said.
