While ADAT in Abu Dhabi and SR Technics in Zurich will continue to remain standalone legal entities, the new structure comes as a response to the changing global aviation service market and is aimed at developing an integrated, value-added offering which it says goes beyond the traditional MRO business model.

This offer includes technical services, technical training, supply change management and traditional MRO services through its global operational locations across Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Sanad, Mubadala Aerospace’s component and engine financing solutions company, will remain a standalone entity. According to the head of Mubadala's Aerospace business, Homaid Al Shemmari, Sanad offers a real differentiator for the Mubadala MRO network, supporting increased liquidity for airlines and the OEMs.

Al Shemmari is named as the chairman of the  new Mubadala Aerospace MRO network; Jeremy Chan is appointed executive vice chairman; and James Stewart is appointed group CEO.

Other key members of the leadership team are:   Abdul Khaliq Saeed, president, MENA;  André Wall, president, Europe;  Abdulla Mohamed Shadid, chief commercial officer;  Pierre Steffen, chief supply chain officer

Al Shemmari, said: “I am confident that under the guidance of James Stewart and the global leadership team, the Mubadala Aerospace MRO network will be at the forefront of serving the industry’s evolving needs as we progress with the continuing integration of ADAT and SR Technics and drive the strategy for the next stage of growth.

“The creation of a global aviation solutions business headquartered in Abu Dhabi will benefit all our key stakeholders, including customers, employees, and suppliers, and it also supports Mubadala Aerospace’s long-term strategy to create a buoyant and sustainable aerospace industry in the Emirate,” Shemmari, pictured below, said

CEO Stewart, added: “Each organization brings exceptional value to the network; ADAT is an emerging player in the industry and the largest MRO provider in the Middle East, which is experiencing exponential growth in the aviation industry. SR Technics is recognised as a global leader in quality, technical expertise and customer service.”

“The near-term focus will be on developing a single go-to-market strategy through global supply chain and commercial functions, and we will be engaging all our stakeholders to ensure we develop an offering founded on long-term strategic partnerships, which delivers a unique value offering, the highest standards, innovation and customer focus across the global network in a more efficient and integrated way.”
