LT General Al Faisal demonstrates support for Royal Aeronautical Society

HRH Lt Gen Abdulrahman bin Fahad Al-Faisal, Commander Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) visited the Society and presented a painting of an English Electric Lightning to Dr Mike Steeden, President of the Royal Aeronautical Society, in celebration of the strengthening bond between the Royal Saudi Air Force and the Society.
The presentation was attended by representatives of the Royal Saudi Air Force, Royal Air Force and the Society. His Highness originally trained as pilot with the RSAF and spent part of his service piloting Lightning’s during the 1970’s. In June 2009 His Highness was awarded Honorary Fellowship of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
Dr Steeden welcomed His Royal Highness on his second visit to the Royal Aeronautical Society and thanked him for the painting he was presenting, which will be prominently displayed at No.4 Hamilton Place.
Speaking at the presentation Dr Steeden paid tribute to the “continuing and highly valued personal support” of His Royal Highness for the Society. He highlighted the strong relationship that had been established with the aerospace community in Saudi Arabia since the formation of the Riyadh branch three years ago, and looked forward to the development of yet closer ties in the future.
