Dubai Airshow: Calling local women in aerospace – new association wants you

Carol Ronan-Heath Emirates’ legal advisor has established a regional branch of the International Aviation Women’s Association (IAWA) in Dubai.
Ronan-Heath is now part of the team that buys engines for Emirates and believes a local branch of IAWA will encourage other young women to enter the industry and develop their careers. She says: “I started in IAWA as a junior lawyer many years ago. I was invited to one of their conferences and was blown away by the motivational effect.” She is currently working with a local junior paralegal who is trying to qualify and has found her a mentor in New York to help with her career.
Founded in 1988, the International Aviation Women’s Association (IAWA) is an international organization for women who hold senior positions in the aviation and aerospace industry including airport management and consulting, commercial, general and business aviation, banking and leasing, economic and business consulting, education and research, engineering, finance, government, insurance, international relations, law, manufacturing, media and space.
