Dubai 2011: Two rulers open the Dubai Airshow

Two rulers – Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, UAE prime minister and vice president of Dubai and King Juan Carlos of Spain – led a delegation of senior officials as they opened the Dubai Airshow.

The royal entourage included HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman and chief executive Emirates Airline and president, Department of Civil Aviation, as well as Crown Prince of Dubai HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, as well as senior royalty and military figures.

While visiting the static display on the apron, the tour took in the flydubai aircraft. 

Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, said: “This is the second consecutive airshow that their highnesses have visited flydubai. We were honoured to welcome them on board. The presence of so many senior international royal and military figures shows the importance of this event for aviation in the region.”
