Boeing Commercial Airplanes appoint communications manager for Middle East, India and Central Asia

Boeing has announced that it has appointed Saffana Michael as the communications manager for its Commercial Airplanes unit in the Middle East, India and Central Asia.

Saffana will support Boeing’s growing presence and business objectives across the region and will work closely with Marty Bentrott, Boeing Commercial Airplanes’ vice president – sales for the Middle East, India and Central Asia . She will be based at Boeing’s Middle East headquarters in Dubai , UAE.  

“The Middle East, India and Central Asia include some of the fastest growing aviation markets in the world and communications remains a key component of our efforts to strengthen relationships and engage with important stakeholders.

 “We are pleased to welcome Saffana to the team and look forward to drawing on her vast experience and knowledge, particularly of the Middle East ,” said Bentrott.  

With more than 10 years experience as a public relations professional in the Middle East , Saffana joins Boeing from Weber Shandwick Middle East and North Africa (MENA) where she led the agency’s aerospace and technology practice. During her time at Weber Shandwick she managed a range of multinational accounts including Boeing, Honeywell Process Solutions, The Dow Chemical Company, Samsung and MessageLabs.            

Saffana also led the Weber Shandwick team that won an EMEA SABRE award for best practice in trade show communications, for its work with Boeing at the Dubai Air Show in 2009. She previously worked with Hill & Knowlton in Dubai and Promoseven Public Relations. Prior to this, Saffana worked as a journalist in the UAE and Bahrain .
