BAE strengthens Qatar office with key appointments

Leading BAE Systems’ Qatar operation is the recently-appointed Michael Bentinck, Vice President – Qatar, (pictured above right) who has moved from heading up BAE Systems’ office in Kuala Lumpur. Michael is supported by a core team that includes Holly Smith, Business Development Executive - Middle East,(pictured above left) and Matthew Heald, Business Development Executive, Military Air Solutions - Typhoon Mission Support & International Programmes.
Martin Bennett, Regional Vice President - Middle East, will continue to oversee the Qatar office.
With a presence in Qatar for over two decades, Michael Bentinck explained why BAE Systems’ recent appointments underline its commitment to the country:
“As a priority market in the Middle East BAE Systems is already well-established in Qatar, however as the nation continues on its path to rapid growth and modernisation we felt the time was now right to increase the size of our team to support our commitment to Qatar."
“Our key priorities will be to work more closely with the Qatari Armed Forces as well as progressing partnerships with key Qatari academic institutions to help in building Qatar’s educational base particularly with respect to science and technology” continued Bentinck.
Earlier this year, as part of an ongoing partnership with the Qatar Leadership Academy, BAE Systems hosted a presentation about new generation combat aircraft by ex-fighter pilot Craig Penrice aimed at inspiring young cadets.
