The guards were carried on four back to back charters from Entebbe, Uganda to Iraq’s capital Baghdad.

Dmitriy Korshunov, Director ACS Middle East, coordinated the flights: “We chose a Lockheed Tristar as the most suitable aircraft because the charter configured variants have more than 350 seats. We secured the necessary permissions and traffic rights on the day of confirmation through our own and our client’s contacts. This was particularly impressive as there was an African Union summit in Entebbe and we had to adhere to special airport restrictions.”

ACS sent two representatives to Uganda to oversee the ground operations and to make sure the necessary swift turnarounds were achieved. Another representative was on board the aircraft the whole time, ensuring things in Iraq ran smoothly too.

Korshunov continued: “With important and large scale operations ACS likes to make sure that we have people in situ. Rather than running things from an office thousands of miles away, we ensure things run smoothly by actually being there.

“The client responsible for the personnel movement said that they were very pleased with all ACS’s efforts and that the service levels were impeccable. The fact that we were so hands on and that they had a dedicated account manager throughout made us stand out from the competition”.
