MRO shops get easier access to engine parts

“Commercial aerospace operators and aircraft engine maintenance, repair and overhaul shops now can quickly search for information about Chromalloy parts and services for all major aircraft engines,” said Andrew Farrant, Vice President, Marketing & Corporate Communications.
“This online catalog offers aircraft operators and service centers a new resource to help them minimize time spent searching for this information.”
The database-driven catalog, on the Chromalloy Web site at http://www.chromalloy.com/CapabilityCatalog/
, lists information by manufacturer, engine type and engine section, quickly returning results on parts, repairs and overhaul capabilities.
Searches also indicate whether the company produces Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) components for a particular part number, and other information including repair turn times and locations in the company’s network that performs the repair.
“The catalogue lists thousands of turbine engine parts and allows users to input a part number, part name or ATA number,” Farrant said. “Results show all relevant part numbers as well as information about related parts.”
The catalogue also makes it easy to request pricing and other information by contacting a sales representative through the catalogue Web site.
The catalogue now lists commercial aerospace parts and repairs. Soon to follow will be parts and repairs on Industrial Gas Turbine (IGT) engines, aero-derivatives and military aircraft power systems.
Chromalloy provides turbine engine operators with a full range of services, repairs and replacement parts including high pressure turbine (HPT) blades that cost significantly less than OEM produced equipment.
Chromalloy’s FAA-approved replacement parts have demonstrated outstanding reliability, quality and durability in aerospace and industrial applications.
Founded more than 50 years ago, the company operates 30 manufacturing and service centers in 14 countries.
Earlier this year the company opened a base in Dubai.
Speaking at the launch Chromalloy’s EMEA sales director Ben Story said ‘We are growing our engine aftermarket business to offer the region’s turbine operators with parts, repairs and other services that deliver significant cost savings over OEM pricing. We are trying to partner with our customers rather than just fly in and fly out. We see a need to establish ourselves in the region and work full time with our customers."
