MRO Middle East: Lufthansa Technik to overhaul Emirates landing gear

Emirates Airline has contracted Lufthansa Technik to overhaul the centre landing gears of its Airbus A340-300 fleet it was announced at the MRO Middle East show in Dubai today

The two-year contract includes services for eight aircraft.  Lufthansa Technik's landing gear business unit in Hamburg, Germany will be responsible for all necessary maintenance, repair and overhaul works on the equipment.

"This agreement forms an important part of our robust aircraft maintenance programme. At Emirates our goal is to continuously enhance our operations in terms of cost-efficiency, reliability and speed of technical services, for the benefit of our customers. We are confident that this new contract with Lufthansa Technik will deliver on these goals," said Adel Al Redha, Emirates' Executive Vice President, Engineering and Operations.
 
Walter Heerdt, Lufthansa Technik's Senior Vice President Marketing&Sales said: "In 2005 we signed the first landing gear contract with Emirates to provide services for a significant part of the Emirates' B777 fleet. We are very proud that we have been able to fulfill Emirates' high quality requirements in the past years. This successful partnership has been the base to extend these kinds of services to another aircraft family within the Emirates' fleet."
