Dubai 2011: Honeywell enables better regional support with new contracts

The first, with commercial and military aviation supplier Transworld Aviation, will enable broader spares, parts and maintenance provisioning for Honeywell's Middle Eastern and African (MEA) defence customers and commercial helicopter operators (excluding the UAE).

Juan Picon, vice president defence and space international at Honeywell Aerospace, said: “Transworld Aviation has a strong relationship with local customers and is ideally located in Dubai, the central business hub for the MEA region.

“The company is very well positioned to serve Honeywell’s defence and commercial helicopter markets across the region.”

“This distribution agreement will enable Honeywell to shorten lead times on component orders and reduce turnaround times for repairs, ensuring customer order requests and queries are dealt with in a timely manner.”

The second distribution agreement is with aerospace services supplier Global Aerospace Logistics (GAL). It will provide Honeywell’s UAE defence customers and commercial helicopter operators with quicker access to spares, parts, and technical support.

Abu Dhabi-based GAL specialises in the maintenance and repair of aircraft and engines, manning, logistics, training, air traffic control, consulting and the sale of aircraft spare parts and accessories.
