Aramco and Alsalam have a solid working relationship dating back to 1997. Since then Alsalam has completed several complex projects and offered technical services for the Aramco Aviation Department. Alsalam has also provided technical training for Aramco personnel.

Today, Alsalam counts Aramco among its major customers in Saudi Arabia, along with other key customers including Saudi Arabian Airlines, Royal Saudi Air Forces and National Air Services (NAS).

The company has earned a reputation in the industry as a Head-of-State and VIP aircraft interiors and modification centre. Alsalam is also the only designated warranty centre for Boeing Business Jets (BBJ) in the MENA region.

Currently, it is the only Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) centre in Saudi Arabia that is certificated by the three major aviation authorities as a Part 145 Organisation. These are: the General Authority of Civil Aviation (KSA-GACA), the Federal Aviation Administration (US-FAA), and European Aviation Safety Agency (EU-EASA). Alsalam is compliant and registered to ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System.

Alsalam Aircraft Company is a joint venture company which was established in 1988 under the patronage of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense and Civil Aviation Economic Offset Programme. Alsalam contributes to the Kingdom’s strategy to develop self-sufficiency in the field of civil and military aircraft maintenance and modification through technology transfer and development of Saudi nationals.

Currently, the company employs over 3,500 people nationwide engaging in both civil and military programmes, whilst maintaining a 'nationalisation' rate of 55%.
