Action Aviation which is an emergency services operator as well as distributor for the business jet, confirmed that the SJ30 will now be offered with an air ambulance package, in addition to its usual role as a VIP business jet. The specialized Medevac interior will be a “quick-fit” option provided by Lifeport, a leader in aircraft medical interior solutions.

The SJ30 jet is on show in the Executive Aircraft Park at the Farnborough Air Show.

The SJ30 is uniquely suited for medical evacuation missions as it maintains sea-level cabin pressure up to 41,000ft. For an air ambulance mission, this feature assumes paramount importance, as the effects of reduced air pressure on the human body are critical for many patients. In addition, with a 2,500 nautical mile range and a high speed cruise of Mach .83 or 486 knots, the SJ30 can transport critical patients over long distances in the shortest possible time with class-beating fuel economy resulting in reduced expenses for the mission.

The five-passenger VIP interior of the SJ30 can be quickly and easily converted to a Medevac configuration, giving operators the flexibility to meet multiple mission requirements.

The Lifeport medical interior includes a seamless floor, which has both biocide and Fungicide properties. The interior also includes an IV warmer, a slide out shelf for a vital signs monitor, a locking drug box and a suction canister. Advanced life support is provided with a MedPak, including oxygen, compressed air, vacuum, and a/c power. A modular MedWall will centrally locate switches and outlets for maximum patient care. Lifting and turning of the patient during loading is minimized by using the Lifeport Access Ramp.

Hamish Harding, Chairman of Action Aviation said, “When a patient is in need of an air ambulance, they are already experiencing high levels of stress and anxiety. The SJ30, with its sea-level cabin to 41,000 feet, provides the ideal comfortable environment to alleviate these symptoms even on long range missions. Its speed and range capabilities will also prove invaluable during the critical life-saving hours”.

He added, “The cost per mile of the SJ30 as an air ambulance is probably the lowest in the industry due to the low fuel burn per mile and the high cruise speeds, thereby delivering significant business advantage to operators of SJ30 air ambulances”.
