Airex 2012: Baymap named as Piper agent

Baymap Aviation in Ankara has been named as the new dealer for Piper Aircraft in Turkey .

The company - a subsidiary of Korfez Aerial Survey and Engineering which operates in Turkey, Libya, Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia – will be exhibiting jointly with Piper Aircraft at the Airex 2012 show when it opens tomorrow (Thursday).

The two organisations will be displaying the single-engine Piper Meridian turboprop and the single-engine unpressurized Piper Matrix.

Enrico Evers, Piper’s regional sales director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa said: "The addition of BAYMAP is a significant step forward in continuing to build our EMEA team."

Baymap chief executive, Oben Ogultarhan (pictured right) said: "This new business relationship between Baymap Aviation and Piper Aircraft will help grow general aviation activity in Turkey, which is one of my personal goals."

Ogultarhan who is also head of flight operations with the company is an experienced flight instructor with 25 years of aviation experience. He holds a number of pilot certificates and specializes in training, bush flying, aerial survey and search and rescue operations. Based at Etimesgut Airport in Ankara, Baymap is also involved in pilot training and aircraft maintenance.
