Jettainer's experience, high calibre of staff and award winning software will provide invaluable support for our operation. Together, we will offer our customers an unparalleled service wherever they are in the world."

Alexander Plumacher, managing director of Jettainer, said: "Etihad is an innovative, fast growing airline and has an excellent reputation. We are really proud to join a partnership with common goals. Etihad is the ideal partner to enter the Middle East region."

Under the deal Etihad will receive a complete fleet of brand new, lightweight ULDs. The containers, which are 20 per cent lighter than the standard aluminium version, are proven to reduce the environmental impact of an airline as well as reduce costs.
