Last call for places at the Gulf Defence conference

The Gulf Defence Conference (GDC) is now just over a week away and due to security reasons there will be no on-site registration on the day so the last chance to register for a place is Thursday February 17, 2011, the conference orfganisers warned today.

GDC is the official conference of IDEX 2011 and is being organized by INEGMA for the very first time. It takes place on Saturday February 19 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Ruler of Abu Dhabi and with the  full support of the UAE Armed Forces.

Kick-starting IDEX 2011, GDC dedicates an entire day of intellectual discussion on core defense areas. A fully confirmed programme  features nine Command level officers from around the world who will brief delegates on the latest emerging trends in defence strategy with a technology-centric focus, and keynote addresses from His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and Vice Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council and The Right Honourable Gerald Howarth MP, Minister for International Security Strategy, Great Britain.

The audience will include members of the Ruling Family of Abu Dhabi and other Emirates of the UAE, and the most senior officials from all UAE military services lead by Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Hamad Thani Al Rumaithi, and key defence organizations and from around GCC member states. The audience will also include dozens of visiting delegations of different services from around the world visiting IDEX2011, predominantly led by Commanders and Flag Officers.
