To mark the achievement, contrary to the norm, the airline awarded its first ever member with two complimentary Falcon Gold tickets to any destination on the airline’s network at an event held in Gulf Air’s headquarters in Muharraq today.

Bahraini, Saleh Hussain, the first passenger to receive a distinctive falcon emblazoned card 19 years ago, has flown over 1.5 million miles with the national carrier and is now a gold member for life.

Presenting the tickets, Gulf Air acting chief executive officer Maher Salman Al Musallam said: “It’s our members, including Mr. Hussain, that have made FalconFlyer what it is today; one of the leading frequent flyer programs in the region and I would like to take this opportunity to thank him and our other 999,999 members as we celebrated this significant milestone. We constantly strive to add value to our FalconFlyers’ travel experience making it more rewarding and memorable. The opportunities to earn and redeem miles with Gulf Air and our partners is what makes FlaconFlyer so attractive.”

On receiving the tickets Hussein said: “I first flew with Gulf Air when I was boy and since then have taken more flights than I can recall, yet I remain as loyal to the national carrier today as I was all those years ago. I am delighted to be part of the airline’s history and wish the carrier all the best for the future.”
