Dubai's Airport Show is gaining global support

Event organisers Reed Exhibition said today that the Airport Show is receiving great support from many of the global industry leaders as the final touches are put on plans for the event which opens May 31

ADB Airfield Solutions, Smiths Detection ME FZE, Siemens ME, AXA Power, ADPi are some of the companies that have pledged to showcase their products and solutions at the show that will be held from 31 May - 2 June at the Airport Expo.

Mohamad Bader-Eddin, Show Director,  said: “The Airport Show has always remained the region’s leading event under which major industry players convene to showcase their latest portfolio and tap into the opportunities offered in region. The event comes at a time when the region’s investments in airport construction are projected to touch over US$100 billion.”

Airport Show 2011 will host suppliers of equipment and services covering all areas of airport development and operations under one roof, offering a one-stop platform that caters to the needs of airports in the region. It will feature solutions in security, ground support equipment, supply, airport revenue management, design and build, technology, air traffic management, as well as operations, training and recruitment.

According to the Middle East Airport Security Market Assessment Report, safety and security remains an important focus that grows in parallel with the ongoing airport construction activity witnessed in the region. The study has estimated the region accounts for 14.4 per cent of the global critical infrastructure protection market. Spending in the Middle East on security-related equipment and service is also set to increase to AED212 million (US$57.7million) by 2015, according to research.

According to the seventh Airline IT Trends Survey, the outlook for 2011 remains positive with 78 per cent of airports expecting their budgets to stay the same or increase. Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa are projected to be the strongest growth sectors.
