During the past twelve months, Boeing has funded education programmes and entrepreneurship training for more than 2,000 people across the region, principally through projects organized by top non-governmental organizations including INDEMAJ, INJAZ, Action Care and the Emirates Environment Group in the UAE, Qatar , Palestinian Territories and Jordan .

“At Boeing we believe that corporate citizenship should reflect the priorities of the communities in which we live and work. By supporting quality programs in education, entrepreneurship, child care and environmental awareness that deliver tangible results, we seek to give meaningful support to those who need it the most,” said Paul Kinscherff , president, Boeing Middle East.

“We want to help prepare students to meet current and future challenges and realize their dreams in a global competitive economy. By focusing training on parents and teachers we increase the impact and sustainability of the projects we support.”

Boeing partners with INJAZ in the Palestinian Territories , Jordan and Qatar to provide leadership and entrepreneurship training. In 2009, nearly 2,000 students in the Palestinian Territories benefited from Boeing-sponsored Entrepreneurship MasterClasses. In Jordan , the company is supporting an INJAZ initiative to give underprivileged students the opportunity to be mentored and network with private sector companies in the country. In Qatar , Boeing supports the INJAZ Leadership Course, which is designed to develop leadership skills among school students.

Boeing also supports the Action Care ‘Early Start’ programme, which trains parents, teachers and caregivers in the UAE and Qatar in maximising a child’s learning potential before formal education begins. The company has also worked with INDEMAJ to set up Resource and Development Centers for schools in rural parts of the UAE and with the Emirates Environment Group to train teachers in environmental education.

Education is one of five focus areas where Boeing partners with community organizations around the globe, through its corporate citizenship initiatives, to help provide high-quality programs and opportunities for children, their families and education professionals. The other areas that comprise the barometer of a community’s vitality are: health and human services, arts and culture, environment and civic awareness.
