AviaDev to take place in Madagascar next June

AviaDev Africa, the leading route development event for Africa will head to Antananarivo, Madagascar on 8-10 June 2022 for its sixth edition.

The event is  supported by the Malagasy Ministry of Transportation and Meteorology and Ravinala Airports, the operators of Antananarivo and Nosy Be Airports. During the 2021 edition, many of the Malagasy landscapes were showcased within AviaDev’s digital event. However, 2022 will offer attendees the opportunity to visit the impressive new Antananarivo international airport terminal and experience Malagasy hospitality in person.

AviaDev Africa will be the first aviation event to be held on the treasure island.  At a time when the industry looks to recovery, AviaDev will act as a focal point for the community to connect with one another, collaborate through facilitated business-to-business meetings and ultimately change the narrative of the African aviation industry.

The Minister of Transportation and Meteorology, Tinoka Roberto said, "With the recent reopening of the Malagasy borders, the Ministry of Transportation and Meteorology, as well as the Malagasy State, wishes to send a strong message on its commitment to relaunch the air transportation sector, which is one of our pillars of development. This sector has also demonstrated its importance during these times of crisis, through air cargo, but also as a gateway to open Madagascar to the world. It is therefore with great pleasure that the Ministry of Transportation and Meteorology sponsors AviaDev Africa 2022, as we have already done for the virtual edition in 2021. We are convinced that this event will make Madagascar shine and highlight its potential. It will also allow us to create a real impact on the development of aviation in Africa. This is crucial in these times of pandemic and essential for the revival of air transport."

Julien Coffinier, Chief Executive Officer, Ravinala Airports said, “I am delighted that after a difficult two years, we are bringing together the top aviation professionals to Madagascar. Ravinala Airports, as AviaDev Africa’s host sponsor, supports the Malagasy government and airport entities in the revival of air traffic and tourism. This event will be a key driver for our tourism goal and will enable Madagascar to welcome guests from all over the world, boosting the economic, social and cultural development of the country. It will showcase the route development opportunity for Madagascar.”

AviaDev Africa is renowned for its quality, event experience and focus on business-focused networking through its pre-arranged meeting system and remains committed to advancing air connectivity to, from and within the African continent.

Jon Howell, CEO and Founder, AviaDev commented: “AviaDev has been very active in the digital and virtual space since inception in 2015 and especially over the last 2 years. However, nothing replaces the power of shared experience and human connection. Therefore, we are delighted to be able to bring our wonderful community together once again to deliver AviaDev Africa 2022 in a live setting. Working in partnership with the Ravinala Airports team and with the support of the Malagasy government, we are committed to delivering an unforgettable experience for all of our delegates”
