Airex 2012: AMAC opens in Istanbul with PC12-NG maintenance offer

The company’s brand new three-storey sales and service centre at Ataturk Airport, Istanbul will be scene for celebrations at the show. The state-of-the-art structure features 1,500 sqm of hangarage, 1,200 square meters of shop floor space and 300 square meters of office space, and it will be fully operational by the end of the year.

Initially, the 20-strong Istanbul-based team will be dedicated to providing a full range of maintenance services for the Pilatus PC12-NG aircraft as AMAC’s strategy is to attract maintenance business from Middle Eastern owners of this aircraft. The Available Core Aviation Services includes line and base maintenance; defect rectification & AOG Support; accomplishment of airworthiness reviews and certificates; AD/SB assessment; development of maintenance and reliability programmes; planning of scheduled maintenance activities; management of modification and repairs; out-sourced engineering tasks and services and pre-buy inspections.

The commitment to the PC12-NG maintenance follows the announcement at the beginning of 2012 of the joint venture between manufacturer Pilatus and AMAC Aerospace which saw AMAC appointed as a fully authorised and exclusive Sales Distributor for the PC-12NG in the Middle East. AMAC will be exhibiting its own versatile, high speed six-seater turboprop at the Turkish show and will be encouraging delegates to arrange for test flights.

A key element of AMAC’s sales strategy will be to offer potential purchaser’s business analysis services including fuel consumption studies, operational cost predictions, and maintenance schedule plans in order to support an informed purchase. It is anticipated that this will be of particular interest to air taxi services and corporate fleet inquiries.
