The event will serve Africa’s strengths as a developing economic region by providing its fledgling civil aviation industry with solutions for airport expansion and modernisation to enable international compliance and local development programmes even in an infrastructure poor environment.

The platform will unite airport authorities, government, aviation authorities and airlines to make decisions about airport expansion, technology adoption, facilities management and commercial development.

The event caters to common goals of all current and upcoming airport developments on the continent: to generate new traffic and transit traffic in Africa through safety and security compliance and facilities development, to bring aviation infrastructure and operations in all parts of the continent up-to-speed with prevailing global ICAO’s standards, and to secure a majority market share to accommodate growing passenger and cargo volumes despite international players and increasing international competition in the local aviation market.

Some of the featured speakers include:

Fanie Coetzee, president, Airline Pilots Association, South Africa·
Barry Kashambo, executive director, Civil Aviation Safety and Security Oversight Agency, Uganda
SNA Kassera, executive secretary, Institution of Engineers Tanzania
Ken Kaunda, general manager, Kenya Airports Authority, Kenya
