UAE Air Force in action against pirates off Oman

The UAE air force worked alongside the country's special forces yesterday to rescue ship from pirates off the coast of Oman

 The WAM news agency said  the UAE's special forces, backed by the air force, regained control of the bulk carrier MV Arrilah-1 off the coast of neighboring Oman.  The vessel had come under attack at dawn on Friday while en route from Australia to Dubai's Jebel Ali port.

The pirates surrendered as the troops boarded the UAE-flagged ship, which is owned by the Abu Dhabi National Tanker Company. They will be handed over to Emirati authorities on arrival at Jebel Ali later today.
