Turkey signs a cooperation treaty with UK Ministry of Defence

The Armed Forces of Turkey and the UK have signed a military cooperation treaty during an official state visit to Britain.

The treaty was signed by the deputy chief of the Turkish general staff, General Hulusi Akar and the UK's Secretary of State for defence, the Rt Hon Phillip Hammond and will enable greater cooperation between the Armed Forces of Turkey and the UK.

The proposed agreement is designed to facilitate greater defence co-operation between the Turkey and UK, across a range of military activities.
