Like most of the drivers in the F1 championships he makes use of business jets. Hamilton is brand ambassador for Bombardier’s Learjet, Button has already ordered a HondaJet in readiness for the new light jet’s delivery next year and the Ferrari team are regularly seen emerging from their sponsor, Piaggio’s Avanti.

But Schumaker has selected luxury charter company Comlux to fly him to the various tracks this season.

With the Gulf Air sponsored Bahrain event kicking off the season, Schumaker arrived in Manama in the back of a Global Express XRS.

Schumacher said “I have been flying with Comlux for many years now. Travelling like this allows me get fully rested before the Grand Prix and thus always arrive well-prepared. I am excited to fly on their brand new Bombardier Global Express XRS which is currently one of the fastest jets in the world”

The World Champion will extensively use the Comlux fleet which comprises of two Airbus ACJ, two A318 Elite, five Bombardier Global Express, two Global 5000, two Challenger 850, two Challenger 605 and 1 Hawker 850XP. Stephen Laven, CEO of Fly Comlux, which earlier this year announced plans for a base in Bahrain said: “Comlux is very proud to support Michael Schumacher for his come back into the Formula One.”
