The plan aims to make APU servicing costs more manageable and affordable through long-term planning.

Raghed Talih, Honeywell’s regional sales director for the Middle East, said: “The plan could be very attractive to BBJ owners in the region – there are about 40-50 in operation.

“Companies can enrol into the programme according to the number of hours they are flying. It may particularly appeal to those that have a single BBJ and who do not have the support that can come if you run a fleet.”

Honeywell has a number of “loaner” 131-9B APUs that can be fitted while customers’ aircraft are being serviced. These are fitted as standard on the Boeing 737 600/700/80 and 900 series. A minor service can take 10-15 days, while a major one is around 20-25 days.

The 60-month rolling AMP includes APU servicing at one of four dedicated Honeywell service centres around the world in Germany, Singapore, China and the US.
