Jet Connections create a Non-Equity Sharers Programme

A world-first aviation scheme has been launched on the back of the UK's economic woes - bringing together private jet owners who want to offset their operating costs and gain better value for money from their asset, with those who long to own their own aircraft but their dreams are crushed by cost.

Zaher Deir is the managing director of Jet Connections, an aircraft management company based at Oxford Airport, that is looking to change the face of business aviation in Europe with its unique Non-Equity Sharers (NES) Programme that will financially benefit both parties.

The launch also comes as the UK  Government this week unveiled a hefty new private jet tax in their Budget announcement, which only adds to aircraft owners' burgeoning  financial  pressures.

Major aircraft manufacturers, including Cessna, Embraer, Dassault and Bombardier, have shown a high level of interest in the NES scheme and have eagerly awaited its launch. The ground-breaking programme could help to give the aviation industry a much-needed boost.

Under the NES scheme, Jet Connections will create flying groups by matching one private jet owner with a maximum of three people or Non-Equity Sharers (NES) who wish to use the owner's aircraft.

Deir, who is from Jordan and has nearly 30 years experience in the aviation industry, said: "With this innovative NES programme, we are creating the perfect sharing arrangement for both aircraft owners and those people or businesses wishing to 'own' their very own jet.

"Fixed costs are paid by all users equally, whilst variable costs are based on actual use and are paid by individuals according to their usage.

"If you own a private aircraft, it costs you money even when you're not making use of it. Our NES Programme can offer you much better value on your asset.

"While the advantages of owning an aircraft are numerous, so are the costs. A private aircraft is very expensive to purchase and comes with many added expenses, for example, hiring and training pilots, maintenance, insurance, and management.

"If you have a reason to own a private jet, but you can't justify the expense of owning the aircraft outright, then our NES Programme will be the perfect solution for your flying requirements."

The scheme will operate on a yearly basis and will be managed under a Jet Connections contract.
