Freight expectations from Bahrain's MENA

The company said today it had completed the induction and registration of a Boeing 737-300F and that it intends doubling the number of aircraft over the next couple of years.

MAE was established in Bahrain in 2008 and has expanded from only business jets, to the recent addition of a Boeing 737 airliner. Commenting on this move MAE managing director Dr Mohamed Juman said “The majority of global aviation players are looking to the Middle East as the next area of growth in the industry. We have experienced this trend firsthand here in Bahrain. Despite the regional situation, we continue to enjoy stability in Bahrain that has resulted in the confidence that aircraft owners have in Bahrain and in us as a company and an operator.

“The national regulator, Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs, works to globally-respected aviation standards. However, completing the registration of this aircraft in an extremely short period of time during February of this year, demonstrates the sheer professionalism and positive attitude that Bahrain CAA continues to show to the aviation community in Bahrain, regionally and globally.

“The MAE Aircraft Management team worked tirelessly alongside Bahrain CAA to add airline and cargo capabilities to its existing Aircraft Operating Certificate. This achievement represents a significant expansion of the operational capabilities of the company. The expertise and qualifications the company established to support airliners, will have significant benefits of quality and standards across the entire fleet, not just the airliner,” Dr. Juman said.

Talking about the collaboration with the Bahrain CAA, Dr Juman praised the Licensing, Airworthiness and Air Transport Sections for working in unison with the MENA implementation team, and for providing regulatory backing “above and beyond the call of duty.”

Despite operating a principal, core schedule of flights in the region, the aircraft is available for charter to third parties. The aircraft owner’s principal client supported the choice to base and operate the aircraft in Bahrain due to Bahrain’s central and strategic location in the Gulf, and ease with which the region can be served. “We are extremely pleased to have Bahrain as our base of operations and we are looking for continued growth out of Bahrain,” Dr Juman said.
